Phnom Penh to Hold a Procession of the Late Prince Ranariddh’s Body on Wednesday

PHNOM PENH: The Phnom Penh Capital Administration has announced that a procession of the body of the late Prince Norodom Ranariddh will be held on Wednesday. The solemn procession organized by the capital’s administration in cooperation with the National-International Festival Organizing Committee as a tribute to the late Prince will start at 5:00 am from the Royal Palace to Wat Botum Vatey where his remains will be cremated.

The statement of the capital administration has stated, “In order for the above program to run smoothly, to maintain security, safety, order and public order, as well as to avoid traffic jams, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration will temporarily suspend traffic without allowing all types of vehicles to pass in front of the palace, Samdech Ban Blvd (St. 214) towards Norodom Blvd (St. 41) to the Independence Monument, Sihanouk Blvd., Neak Banh Tuek, Samdech Sothearos Blvd. from 05:00 am until the funeral procession is over.”

The administration is asking the understanding and consideration of the people who will be affected on the procession. The 8th of December has been declared by the Royal Government as a National Day of Mourning dedicated to the late Prince Norodom Ranariddh.
